Known issue

Mind that tab names are translated only on selecting a tab and making it active. That is the issue related to Eclipse. To learn more, see here.

Bot task

Bot task settings refer to working with bot tasks. Here, you can enable/disable the following options.

  • Automatically add namespace on document open
  • Show "Confirm Namespace Add" dialog

Content Assistant

In WorkFusion Studio, you can adjust Content Assistant to purposes of your development tasks. Go to Windows > Preferences > WorkFusion Studio > Content Assistant to fine-tune the function to get the maximum help from it.

Content Assistant for bot task scripts is disabled by default to make scripting faster. It is recommended not to enable it in case you use the Code perspective.

The following options can be adjusted.

  • Auto activation – define how fast Content Assistant prompts the suggestions (in milliseconds) and keyboard keys to activate it in Groovy.
    • Auto activation delay (ms)
    • Auto activation triggers for Groovy
  • Relevance – rank the constructs according to their importance to your programming preferences. The higher the relevance, the higher the place of a construct in the list.
    • Predefined variable relevance
    • Runtime variable relevance
    • Base script method relevance
    • Static field relevance
    • RPA static methods relevance
  • Packages – define packages to be used as a source for Content Assistant and their ranking order.

Data Stores

Data Stores settings allow to select a working copy update strategy. The available options are as follows:

  • Bot task completed successfully
  • On each <datastore> plugin execution
  • Never

For Data Stores, see here. To learn more about the <datastore> plugin, go to WorkFusion Studio > Help > Help Contents > Machine Task Plugins.

RPA Recorder

To open RPA Recorder preferences, go to Window > Preferences > WorkFusion Studio > RPA Recorder.

Enable typing in any window without explicit switching

The option is enabled for old scripts with typing on screen to work smoothly. The parameter is applied on playback or export to a bot task, Groovy script, or Control Tower. By default, the option is disabled. Mind that enabling this option makes your automation less stable in case some popup windows appear.

Delay between actionsWait for the specified time before performing the next action in the script.
Open browser in private modeBrowser tabs will be opened in the private mode.
ImageImage detection matching thresholdWhen looking for an image on the screen, choose how similar it needs to be to the image that was recorded.
Capture new image screenshot delayA default delay for the Capture new image function.
Global timeout settingsTimeout durationIf an action fails, specify how long to wait for the action to complete before stopping the script.
Polling intervalIf an action fails, specify how often to retry the action. The action will retry until the timeout duration ends.
Website loading timeoutDefault maximum time to wait for a website to load. This setting can be set for each Open Website action separately.
Switch window timeoutThe maximum time to wait for a window to switch to. Default value – 6000 ms.

Secrets Vault

The data stored in Secrets Vault is not shown in recordings, logs, system files, or bot configs. It allows sharing scripts with other users without exposing confidential data.

To use Secrets Vault, go to Window > Preferences > WorkFusion Studio > Secrets Vault.

To learn more about Secrets Vault, refer to Secrets Vault in WorkFusion Studio.

Add secret entry

To add an entry to the Secrets Vault, do as follows.

  1. Press Add.
  2. Insert Alias, Key, and Value. The changes are saved automatically.

    1. Alias serves to distinguish secret entries and must be unique as it will be used in recordings.
    2. Key and Value are designed to save login and password information, respectively.

If you need to have only one secure data record, you can save it in either the Key or Value field at your choice and leave the other field empty.

The data in the Key and Value fields is encrypted. Thus, you cannot view it when opening Secrets Vault, or editing the entry.

Edit secret entry

To edit an entry, click on the field you want to edit and insert the new data. The changes are saved automatically.

Delete secret entry

To delete an existing entry, click on it and press Remove.

Mind that the changes made to secret entries are not automatically reflected for RPA Recorder variables. You have to update these values manually.

Server Profiles

The Server Profiles tab contains settings required for correct work of all the server components.

If you work with different environments (development, production) and need to publish your scripts to different Control Towers, you can do it by using several Server Profiles in WorkFusion Studio and switching between them when required. Control Towers are differentiated as follows:

  • Control Tower for Intelligent Automation Cloud Business
  • Control Tower for Intelligent Automation Cloud Enterprise

To open Server Profiles, go to Window > Preferences > WorkFusion Studio > Server Profiles.

For each server profile, you can specify different preferences as shown in the table below.
