  2. If you get message below, ask to obtain an appropriate permission from your local IT department in order to resolve the issue.

  1. Type regedit in the Run box and press Enter to open the Registry Editor.
  2. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Script Host\Settings
  3. On the right panel, Value name is Enabled. If you see the entry 0, the Windows Script Host access is disabled on your Windows machine. To enable, double-click it and set Value data to 1.

    1. A value of 1 enables Windows Script Host
    2. A value of 0 disables Windows Script Host
  4. Click OK and exit the Registry.

  3. Install Microsoft Loopback Adapter as described on Microsoft TechNet website or follow the instruction below (for Windows 10).
    1. Open My Computer > Properties.
    2. Open Device Manager.
    3. Go to Action and select Add legacy hardware.
    4. Click Next in Add Hardware Wizard.
    5. Choose Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) and click Next.
    6. Select Network adapters in the hardware types and click Next.
    7. In the Select the device driver dialog, choose:
      1. Manufacturer – Microsoft
      2. Model – Microsoft KM-TEST Loopback Adapter

      and click Next.
    8. Click Next to install.
    9. Wait until the installation ends and click Finish to complete.
    10. Open Device Manager to make sure Lookback Adapter is installed and enabled.
  4. Wait until the connection is established.
  5. Open Command Prompt and use ipconfig to check the status of all network interfaces. Make sure Loopback Adapter has got the ip-addresses.
  6. Start RPA Express.
  7. Check Bot Manager status in the tray menu.

  5. Choose one of archives and press Open. You should see the following screen.
  6. Press Preview Package, wait a bit while the Import package button becomes available and press it. 
  7. After that, you can see sample business process in the list.

  5. Find the string in the XML header which contains a wrong version number (see example below).

  3. Check the value of Bot Relay URL

  7. If this URL is correct, but you still get the same exception, please refer to your local IT team in order to provide access to the URL.

  2. If you see the error 'Cannot find active server profile' in Server Profile (see below), you need to delete folder C:\Users\%USER_NAME%\.eclipse and check whether Server Profile has been found and is not empty.
  3. If the Server Profile is empty, populate the field as described in this guide: Preferences

    Do the next steps only in case of folder C:\Users\%USER_NAME%\.eclipse being absent. If you have it and can remove, see steps 1-3 above.


  4. In case the folder C:\Users\%USER_NAME%\.eclipse is absent, and/or Server Profile is not saved even after manual, do as follows.
    1. Open Window > Preferences and go to General > Security > Secure Storage.
    2. Unheck Windows Integrated (64 bit), press Apply and then OK.

      Do not click on the Change Password button.


    3. Enter your own password and hints for recovering password as shown below.

    4. Restart RPA Express and launch WorkFusion Studio.
    5. You should see a password window. Enter password you have previously set, go to WorkFusion Studio, and check whether Default server profile is filled in.

Pay attention that the Secret Entry name should the same as in the exception. In this case, you should have salesforce_cred Secret Entry as shown below.

The maximum memory allocation pool for Java Virtual Machine (JVM) has been exceeded by Studio.

  1. Make sure that Studio is closed.
  2. Go to Studio folder (by default C:\RPAExpress\Studio\).
  3. Find and open Studio configuration file (workfusion-studio.ini).
  4. Find the Xmx property. Default value is 1024m that equals to 1024 MB of memory.
  5. Change the value of the flag to 2048m to double the size of the memory pool.
  6. Save and close the configuration file.
  7. Start Studio.

titleCannot publish a recording to SPA Control Tower

You are getting an error while trying to publish a recording to SPA: "Control Tower has responded with error."

Check the following:

  1. Verify that your SPA Control Tower is up and running
  2. Check Studio properties in %install_dir%/Studio/configuration/config.ini file. Example:

    2. com.workfusion.studio.recorder.wf.port=8080

    3. com.workfusion.studio.recorder.wf.username=someUsername

    4. com.workfusion.studio.recorder.wf.password=somePassword

  3. Check that "recorder-images" bucket exists on S3, which is connected to SPA

Check that the default server profile is populated with necessary data. To do that, go to Window > Preferences > WorkFusion Studio > Server Profiles. The profile should look like in this guide.

If all the fields are populated, try to open Control Tower URL from the profile in browser. In case it shows the Control Tower login page, it means that your components work. Reopen WorkFusion Studio, it should show Components as usual.

If Resolution 1 didn't help, close RPA Express.

  1. Go to the folder C:\Users\<user_name>\.

  2. Find folder named workfusion-workspace.

  3. Create the new folder with the name workfusion-workspace2 and copy all the files from the previous one.

  4. Start RPA Express, wait for several minutes, and check the Components tab.

  5. If this doesn't help as well, collect and zip WorkFusion Studio log files as described here and send them to rpaexpress@workfusion.com with a short description of your issue.

RPA Express has got non-responsive and stays so for a long time.

You should end all RPA Express processes manually.

For that purpose we recommend to use Process Explorer (Windows Sysinternals tool), as the standard Windows Task Manager is not convenient to handle multiple processes.

  1. Go to Process Explorer page. There you can find a description of the tool and the download link.
  2. Download Process Explorer and unpack it to a local folder on your computer.
  3. Start Process Explorer (procexp.exe or procexp64.exe) and accept EULA. Process Explorer opens.
  4. Find the following tasks:
    1. java.exe with multiple sub-tasks;

    2. cmd.exe with sub-tasks postgres.exe.

  5. Select the task, right click and choose "Kill Process Tree" in the context menu.

  6. Do the same for the second task.

titleError executing OcrAction: OcrException cannot be found

  1. First you need to check if the OCR has started in your tray menu.
  2. Then go to Platform Monitor > Components and click on the info icon near OCR. Check if you still have the remaining number of pages to be processed under the current OCR license.

    If you see 0 pages left, you'll need to purchase an OCR license. Please contact rpaexpress@workfusion.com for more details.

  3. If you still have pages remaining, check your RPA express version as it might require an update. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features as seen on the picture below.


    Here you can find a list of all RPA Express versions, including the latest one, for a reference.
  4. If you have the latest version (no update available) you'll need to proceed with the investigation. Please contact rpaexpress@workfusion.com and describe your issue, the support team will help you out.

Keystroke combination 'Ctrl + Enter' is neither accepted nor shown in the Key combination box.

By default, the 'Ctrl + Enter' keystroke is accepted with all windows minimized. Do as follows.

  1. Add Keystrokes to the Actions Flow.
  2. Click Change and minimize all windows.
  3. Hit Ctrl + Enter for the combination to appear in the details.

There is also a workaround to make it work without minimizing all open windows. You can record 'Ctrl + Enter' using RPA recorder.

  1. Click Insert recording.
  2. After recording starts, click 'Ctrl + Enter' and stop the recording. You will get the Enter Keystrokes 'Ctrl + Enter' action.

After that, you can use this recording anywhere you need to insert the 'Ctrl + Enter' keystroke.

titleError executing OCR action: URL is not absolute

This happens because of the use of proxy. Close your RPA Express completely and follow these steps:

1. Press Win+R

2. Type inetcpl.cpl


3. Internet properties will be opened.
4. Switch to "Connections" tab and choose "LAN settings" field


5. From the ‘Local Area Network Settings’ window uncheck the ‘Use a proxy server for your LAN’ option. ‘Automatically detect settings’ must be still checked though.
6. Apply the changes.

  1. Check whether the following links are not working as well:
  2. If the links above are not working, change your default browser (for example, from Chrome to Firefox or Internet Explorer) and check links once again. 
  3. If links work in another browser, check which extensions or plugins you have in your usual default browser. Try to switch them one by one and check how links work. 
  4. When you found extension that prevents to open links, switch it off or configure to allow RPA Express links to launch in browser.
    Known case: Norton Safe Web extension for Chrome prevents to launch RPA Express links.

While automating SAP GUI and using the Window action, it cannot be recognized. For example, you entered the selector of the Save As window using Inspector.

While script execution, an exception occurs.

  1. At first, please check which
version
  1. type of RPA Express you downloaded. If you downloaded Free (RPA Express Starter) version, it doesn't contain server components like Control Tower and File Storage and in this case you won't be able to see these components in Components tab.

  1. If you downloaded Pro (Business or Business Trial

  1. ) version, please make sure that you selected "Development Workstation and Server" option during installation:

If you downloaded right version and selected "Development Workstation and Server", but issue still persists, please check settings in default server profile in Window > Preferences > WorkFusion Studio > Server Profiles. For non-Server local installation they should like below, see more details about this window here.

  1. If Preferences settings are correct, try to close all unnecessary applications and exit RPA Express. Make sure that it closes completely.

  1. Reboot your PC and launch only RPA Express, wait till it loads and after that wait for 5-10 minutes to appear components links in tab.

  1. If it doesn't work, collect files from folder C:\RPAExpress\Agent\Logs\ and WorkFusion Studio logs and send to rpaexpress@workfusion.com.




How to Send Logs

RPA Express logs contain information about events and messages produced by RPA Express components, and a short list of the system properties, such as OS version, CPU type and RAM size.

No sensitive information is collected and included.

It's safe to send them out to WorkFusion by any means (e-mail or via forum as a private message or an attachment to your post).

If installation failed and you see any exception after it, and your PC meets RPA Express System Requirements, do the following steps:

  1. Go to C:\Users\%user_name%\AppData\Local\Temp folder.
  2. Find all files that start with "WorkFusion_RPA_Express_" and have .log extension.
    For example: 
    WorkFusion_RPA_Express_20180505113212.log
    WorkFusion_RPA_Express_20180907113252_001_WorkFusionControlTower.log
    WorkFusion_RPA_Express_20180907113252_<any_symbols>.log
  3. Create a ZIP archive with these files.
  4. Post this archive and description of your issues to WorkFusion Forum or send email to rpaexpress@workfusion.com.
