As our users demand more and more functions in RPA Express to respond to the challenges of their business cases, we are striving to fulfill these demands with new releases. But it's not possible to cover all possible use cases with new actions or improvements and enhancements of the available ones. At the same time, most of the cases can be automated with the use of the implemented functions.

The present section is aimed to share such knowledge and experience with the RPA Express users to give some useful hints for solving the automation tasks.

XPaths and how to use them in web automation

To get a general notion of what XPath is, refer to XPath Guide. To use XPaths in your scripts, see the Web actions in Actions Library.

Shortcuts of Windows and Windows applications for automation

You can use shortcuts for Windows and Windows applications for their automation in the Keystrokes action. To learn more, go to Keyboard. For basic keyboard shortcuts, refer to Using Keyboard Shortcuts for Automation.

WorkFusion Studio

Basic actions for automation

Refer to Recorder Actions in WorkFusion Studio for the functions implemented as Recorder actions.

Opening downloaded recording in WorkFusion Studio

To view a recording you downloaded from the forum or here in the documentation, you should add it to the Media Files folder in WorkFusion Studio. To see how to do that, refer to How to Use RPA Recorder.

Getting values from List and Table variables

A value of each list or table element can be retrieved using the element's index. See examples in Get Value from List and Table by Index in Recorder Variables.

Using selectors with Window action

Selectors refers to particular application elements for Bot to interact with (type, click, focus, etc.). Before you start using selectors in the recording, keep in mind to switch to the target application with the help of the Window action and make sure you apply selectors for Window controls.

Control Tower

Splitting data in the middle of the business process

You can split data in the middle of the business process using a special Bot Form (ETL task). See more in Split Data Between Bot Tasks.
